Breading Machine Crumb Coating Machine

The Breading Machine, also called a Crumb Coating Machine, is essential in meat, poultry, seafood, and snack frying production lines. The breading machine is typically placed after the battering machine and before the fryer. It ensures that the product is fully coated and ready for frying, which locks in flavor, enhances crunchiness, and improves overall shelf appeal. It applies a uniform layer of dry bread crumbs, cracker crumbs, cornflakes, or other coatings to battered products, creating the crunchy texture and golden appearance that customers expect from fried foods. We offer two types of breading machines to meet your frying production lines‘ needs.

Can breading both dry and wet breading crumbs

The breading machine evenly coats and spreads breadcrumbs on seafood products such as chicken, beef, pork, fish, and shrimp through the breadcrumbs that leak from the hopper and the breadcrumbs in the bed.

  • The product is transported by a belt conveyor to the lower conveyor. The bottom and side of the product cover bread crumbs, and the top of the product is covered with bread crumbs from the upper feed hopper. The extra crumbs can be blown by the crumb recycling system.
  • An excellent circulation system greatly reduces the breakage of breadcrumbs, making it suitable not only for crushed breadcrumbs but also for coarse ones.
  • Variable frequency speed regulation is adopted, which is convenient for adjustment and conducive to achieving standardized production.
  • The thickness of bread crumbs is adjustable. Conveyor speed is controlled by a frequency controller, which can adjust the speed.
  • Frequency converter: Siemens brand.

2. GFJ Series Drum Breading Machines

Uses a tumbling drum to coat products more heavily. Ideal for irregular shapes such as chicken wings, drumsticks, or nuggets.

Through the rotation of the drum, the surface of the products is coated with a layer of uniform breadcrumbs. Best applied to lumpy or irregular materials. Such as: chicken popcorn, chicken nuggets, fish nuggets, tender, and so on.

  • The crumbs coating can be more heavily.
  • No arrangement of raw material input, stable product quality
  • The product can be evenly coated with bread crumbs at the folds and convexities because of the roller design.
  • The screening device is used to separate large particles generated in the production process
  • Open-closed lifter makes the cleaning process easier

    Crumb Coating Machine Working Principle

The breading machine works by using a conveyor belt system that carries food products through a curtain of breadcrumbs, flour, or other dry coating. Top and bottom crumb applicators ensure all surfaces of the product are covered. Excess crumbs are automatically recycled back into the system, minimizing waste and maintaining efficiency.

    1. Product Feeding. Products (meat, fish, nuggets, vegetables, etc.) coated with batter are conveyed into the breading machine.
    2. Bottom Layering. A bed of bread crumbs is formed on the conveyor belt. As products pass over it, the bottom surface is evenly coated.
    3. Top Layering. A falling curtain of crumbs covers the top and sides of the product for full coverage.
    4. Pressing & Adhesion. A gentle pressing roller ensures the crumbs adhere firmly to the product surface.
    5. Excess Crumb Recovery. Excess breading is blown off and collected for recirculation, reducing waste.

Breading Machine Integrated into a Meat Frying Production Line

The breading machine is a key component in modern meat frying production lines, designed to coat meat, poultry, fish, and plant-based products with breadcrumbs or other dry coatings. Positioned after the battering or tempura coating process, the breading machine ensures an even, consistent layer of crumbs, creating a crispy, golden texture after frying.

Integration into a Frying Line. When integrated into a meat frying production line, the breading machine plays a crucial role in preparing products before frying:

    1. Predusting (Flour Coating Machine): Applies a thin layer of flour for better batter adhesion.
    2. Battering Machine: Coats food with liquid batter or tempura.
    3. Breading Machine: Applies uniform crumb coating for a crispy texture.
    4. Frying Machine: Cooks products until golden brown.
    5. Air Cooling & IQF Freezing: Prepares fried items for packaging and storage.

This sequence ensures that coated meat, fish, or snacks achieve the desired taste, texture, and appearance.

    How Predusting Improves Line Efficiency

    • Better Adhesion – Ensures batter and crumbs stick firmly, preventing coating loss during frying.
    • Reduced Oil Contamination – Minimizes batter lumps and flour separation in frying oil.
    • Improved Yield – Reduces coating waste, lowering production costs.
    • Enhanced Appearance & Texture – Final fried products have a uniform, golden, and crispy finish.
    • Seamless Integration – Designed to connect directly with battering, breading, and frying equipment in an inline production system.
