Predusting Machine (Flour Coating Machine)
The Predusting Machine, also known as a Flour Coating Machine, is the first step in a fried food coating frying line. It lightly coats meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetable products with a thin layer of flour or starch before battering and breading. This thin layer acts as a base coat, improving adhesion of the batter and breading layers, ensuring an even, crispy finish after frying. The Predusting Machine is an essential pre-treatment step in modern fried food production lines. Ensuring proper adhesion and reducing coating loss helps achieve high-quality, consistent, and profitable fried food products. We supply two models of predusting machines to meet your fried snack food production line need.

Features of the Predusting Machine

The airflow system, which is connected to the preduster, can collect the flour generated by the falling of the flour inside.
- Full Coverage Coating – Guarantees 360° coverage for irregular shapes (such as wings, shrimp, or fish fillets).
- Adjustable Coating Thickness – Allows control over the amount of flour applied to suit different recipes.
- Stainless Steel Construction – Made from SUS304 food-grade stainless steel, this machine is durable and easy to clean.
- Air Blowing & Vibration System – Prevents lumps and uneven flour build-up.
- Hygienic & Easy Cleaning – Open design with detachable parts for quick sanitation.
- Flexible Integration – Can be used as a standalone machine or connected to battering, breading, and frying machines in a full fried food production line.
How the Predusting Machine Works
- Product Entry. Products (chicken nuggets, fillets, wings, shrimp, fish, pork strips, vegetables, etc.) are placed on the conveyor belt.
- Top & Bottom Flour Coating. The machine applies flour or starch to the top, bottom, and sides of the product using a flour curtain and a bottom flour bed.
- Excess Flour Removal. A built-in air blower and vibration system remove excess flour. Ensures even coverage while preventing flour waste.
- Continuous Recirculation. Flour is collected and recirculated back into the system, maintaining a steady supply and reducing material waste.
- Product Exit. The predusted product exits the machine and is automatically transferred to the battering machine for the next step.

Predusting Machine Integration in a Meat Frying Production Line
The Predusting Machine (Flour Coating Machine) plays a vital role in the first stage of the fried food coating process. Its primary purpose is to apply a thin, even flour or starch layer to food products, which acts as a base for batter and breading layers. By improving adhesion and reducing coating loss, the predusting process ensures consistent product quality throughout the frying line. The Predusting Machine is the foundation of the frying production line, ensuring that each following step (battering, breading, frying) delivers maximum efficiency and consistent product quality.
Standard Process Flow with Predusting Integration
- Feeding & Product Preparation. Raw meat, poultry, seafood, or vegetable products are fed onto the conveyor.
- Predusting (Flour Coating Machine). A thin flour or starch layer is applied to all product surfaces. Excess flour is blown off and recycled through the recirculation system.
- Battering Machine. Products are coated with a batter curtain and immersion bath for complete liquid coating.
- Breading Machine. A layer of bread crumbs or flakes is applied for texture and crunch.
- Frying Machine. Products are fried in hot oil until they reach the desired crispness and golden color.
- Air Cooling & De-oiling. Excess oil is removed, and products are cooled for further processing.
- IQF Freezing (Optional). For frozen food products, quick freezing locks in freshness and extends shelf life.
- Packaging. Final products are packed for retail, food service, or wholesale distribution.
How Predusting Improves Line Efficiency
- Better Adhesion – Ensures batter and crumbs stick firmly, preventing coating loss during frying.
- Reduced Oil Contamination – Minimizes batter lumps and flour separation in frying oil.
- Improved Yield – Reduces coating waste, lowering production costs.
- Enhanced Appearance & Texture – Final fried products have a uniform, golden, and crispy finish.
- Seamless Integration – Designed to connect directly with battering, breading, and frying equipment in an inline production system.
